Studies have shown that a large amount of new, entrepreneurial business development is occurring near the area's major colleges and universities: NCCC, Clarkson, Colgate, SUNY, Paul Smiths, Cornell.

SUNY Adirondack To Build $10M Workforce Readiness Center

SUNY Adirondack has received a SUNY 2020 grant of $9.7M for a 10,000-square-foot Adirondack Workforce Readiness Center. A "Business Central" will be part of the Center which will have an entrepreneur development program, resources to help local companies expand, and truing programs.

Paul Smiths Launches new Center for Working Landscapes

Paul Smiths has forestry, food and tourism/hospitality programs, Cornell Cooperative Extension brings the ag programs.  The first event is Forest, Farm and Fork is April 2014.
