Small Districts Tuition Students into Neighboring Districts

Many of the smaller schools in the region have effectively been merged with a neighboring school district in an arrangement where the closing districts pays tuition to send its students to the neighboring town. Technically the school district still exists, it's just not operational.

Piseco School District ceases operations

The K-8 school will pay tuition to send the 10 children to neighboring Lake Pleasant which has 56 students in grades k-9. Three teachers will lose their jobs. A few years ago, Racquette Lake school did the same thing, which doesn't eliminate the district.
